Millennials want a more flexible job according to one report.  I don’t think it’s just this demographic who want to choose the hours they work or from where they work.

Given the choice, most people would choose to work from home for at least some of the working week.

Sara Sutton Fell, FlexJobs’ CEO says “Working from home part-time is a very appealing arrangement for all types of groups. Including working parents and semi-retired Boomers, because it’s so flexible,”

Working from home jobs may be elusive in your company but surprisingly there are top household names who are seriously considering upping their % of employees who qualify to work from home. Top 35 US Companies Hiring

FlexJobs: Who Wants to Work Part-Time

“At FlexJobs, we see a variety of people looking for part-time work such as working parents, semi-retirees, people with health issues or disabilities, military spouses, millennials, career changers, and people seeking better work-life balance.

Part-time remote opportunities are particularly attractive to a talent pool of educated and highly-skilled job seekers. These people don’t necessarily fit the in-office, 9-5 mold.

Here are some of the most recent statistics for part-time work:

  • Total part-time workers: According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 33 million Americans are currently employed in part-time jobs.
  • Choosing part-time work: The majority (62 percent) of part-time workers choose to work part-time or freelance, challenging the misconception that most people work part-time because they can’t find full-time work.
  • Millennials: FlexJobs found that millennials, the largest generation in the workforce and vocal proponents of work flexibility, want to work part-time . They can spend quality time with loved ones (55 percent), pursue a creative passion (39 percent), and travel (38 percent).
  • Full-time workers with second, part-time jobs: A recent survey by RecruitFi also found that individuals currently working full-time are increasingly likely to seek part-time work”                                                                                                                                                                                                   Read the article Top 35 Companies Hiring for Part-time Work-from-Home Jobs
